On December 11, 2011 David Francey returns to the Almonte Old Town Hall where he and pianist Kathryn Briggs recorded his much loved Christmas CD "Carols for a Christmas Eve". David and Kathryn will be joined on stage by guitar master, Terry Tufts to present a wonderful evening of Christmas music. The audience will be encouraged to sing along to both classic and more modern Christmas favourites as well as a few original songs by all three artists.

Following a 48 date cross country tour of his latest CD, Late Edition, Francey is looking forward to a relaxed evening of carols, story-telling and fun with friends. This promises to be an excellent start to the Christmas season. In a beautiful setting surrounded by the sounds of singing, a glorious Steinway concert grand piano, a guitar and laughter along with baked treats and hot cider - lovely!
There will also be a display of original art and prints by David and his wife, artist Beth Girdler.

"Carols for a Christmas Eve [is a] a soothing and heartwarming collection of traditional favourites."
Greg Quill, Toronto Star

"Carols for a Christmas Eve... Gather round the Victrola for a timeless take on sing-alongs, done gracefully by pianist Kathryn Briggs and Scottish-Canadian folk star David Francey." Brad Wheeler, the Globe and Mail

"..you'll love this minimalist recording of David's favourite carols...designed to be sung along with. If you've been singing along for years on auto-pilot, without really thinking about the lyrics, this rendition will give you cause to really experience the meaning of the words to old chestnuts like Good King Wenceslas and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." Penguin Eggs

David has recently been honored with two awards for his song "Waking Hour" which won the John Lennon Songwriting Folk Award and was chosen as the overall top song at the 7th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards He began his music career in 1999 at the age of 45. Within five years he won three JUNOs and began touring worldwide. He is established as one of today's finest singer-songwriters, filling concert halls nationally and internationally.

YouTubes from past performances

December 5th, 2011

Here are links to some video of me playing at some past performances.

This is Whirled, a piece composed by Oliver Schroer.  I had the opportunity to play this piece with some friends in Victoria.  Thanks Lea Kirstein.

This is something completely different… playing Since I Left my Home, a piece by Jeff Andrew.  Man this is fun music to play.
