The final Spontaneous Act of Music in my month long commitment went down with a room full of hockey fans at the James Bay Inn.  We were singing O’Canada after the Canadian mens hockey team won the gold medal in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

This time I went at about 10:30 and played some O’Canada in front of the Safeway near my house which has both an overhanging roof for protection from the rain and a liquor store across the parking lot which might be why it gets a lot of night traffic.  Tonight shoppers got a randomly patriotic, olympic double bass playing O’Canada to talk about with their late night groceries.

Played some music for everybody who happened to be inside the coffee shop I stopped at in Nanaimo on the way to Cumberland to record with Nikole.

Played some more O’Canada and double bass music down on Inner Harbour walkway kinda near Spinnakers.  I’m starting to really like practicing outside in the sun.

Today I went wandering in my neighborhood of Oak Bay looking for a park in which to play and hoping there would be people there.  Turns out that there were people in the first park I went to; two mom’s with two children playing on the structure.  Fun! They enjoyed having some random entertainment in the park.  Who wouldn’t?

#31 on the 22nd of Feb: Played celtic tunes with Laia Zubrecki in Beacon Hill park. Spread the Spontaneous Music vibe to walking traffic, and enjoyed playing music in the spring sun.

#30 on the 21st: Played at my work again. Tried to make it different by inviting my client to play along, and make it into an impromptu jam.

#29 On the 20th: Nikole T. and I took our rehearsal over to the Point St. house and played for the household. There’s 10 people who live there last I checked, and several of of them appreciated having the music drifting through their cavernous home.

#28 On the 19th: That same client and I went and played more music and sang songs by the water near his house in esquimalt. The neighborhood undoubtedly noticed (we were loud) but nobody commented. I take that as a good sign.
